Challenge

The rising crime rates and acts of terror aimed at major cities in India like Mumbai and Pune was becoming an enormous threat to the safety and security of the residents. Traditional ways of policing were not effective in certain situations and were not proactive to an incident that led to delayed response times.

Scope

The objective of the project is to proactively prevent crime, improve law and order in the city, analyze traffic violations, investigate incidents and setup & control immediate response mechanism on a critical incident occurrence.

Solution

First, of its kind large scale, the safe-city project in the country combines proactive monitoring, real-time integrated profiling, video intelligence and fast response management system combined with active technology monitoring and 24X7 support.
The entire city is connected via optic fibre to provide a communication layer that captures video and data in real-time from the 1400 cameras installed on city roads and makes them available to a centralized command and control centre, important government viewing centres and many police stations.
The state-of-the-art technology design is implemented to scale and create a ready backbone for a smart city initiative.
